PIGMENTATION & AGE SPOT TREATMENT
Pigmentation increases how old we look, with dark discoloured patches and brown age spots caused by excess melanin in skin cells.
Although they don’t pose any specific health risks, they’re not very attractive and can have a profound effect on your self-esteem.
Thankfully, our latest non-surgical light therapies can help minimise the appearance of skin pigmentation with dramatic improvement to your complexion.
MEDICAL GRADE TECHNOLOGY
Heswall Laser Clinics, Wirral use powerful medical-grade lasers to perform the treatment.
The laser beam targets only the pigmented lesion in the skin which absorbs the light and shatters, without harming the surrounding tissue.
Once drawn to the surface, the pigmented lesions will fade or dry and flake off the treated area, resulting in an even skin tone.
Skin revitalisation treatment reduces age spots and sun damage by using an optimised laser or IPL device to deliver light energy to your skin which is selectively absorbed by the unwanted pigment and then cleared away by your body.
Skin revitalisation treatments can treat age spots, sun damage, and freckles on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, and feet.
You can expect to see a decrease in the appearance of unwanted skin pigment for a more even skintone.
The procedure can be performed in as little as 30 minutes or less, depending on the size of the treatment area.
Multiple treatments may be needed depending on the severity of the pigment. Several successive treatments will be necessary for best results. Following treatment, the pigment will temporarily darken and then fade away to reveal clear skin.
Most people resume regular activities immediately following the treatment session.
Typically three to four treatments may be required but many see results with as little as one treatment. Immediately after treatment, the pigment of your skin will appear darker – this is normal.
Over the next few days, you will develop a “dirty look” with a very fine mottling and look darker as the destroyed pigment is extruded from the cells. This will settles after a few days leaving the skin appearing smoother and clearer.
